SARA GIESE

Focusing on contemporary drama, Sara Giese has directed numerous productions for the Swedish stage. With emphasis on first performances she has regularly collaborated with writers such as Jonas Hassen Khemiri, Maria Sveland, Liv Strömquist and Anders Duus. For the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm she has directed first performances of new plays by Lars Norén and Kristina Lugn. Spring 2019 she directed the world premiere of Roland Schimmelpfennigs "100 Songs" at Örebro länsteater.

 

As a playwright, Giese has made adaptations of novels, comic books and classic drama, most recently Pappa Pellerins Daughter by Maria Gripe at Orionteatern in Stockholm. 

 

Sara Giese holds a Stage Directing MA from the University Collage of Theatre in Stockholm (Dramatiska Institutet/SKH) and a polytechnic degree in screenwriting from Alma Education.
